The Sweetwater Police Department is an accredited law enforcement agency located in Tennessee. The department is responsible for responding to calls for service, enforcing laws and ordinances, traffic control, conducting criminal investigations, and providing crime prevention and conflict resolutions to the residents of the city. The department also provides community service programs such as bike safety, gun safety, several drug awareness programs, and the Stranger Danger program. The department works hand in hand with the community to run neighborhood watch programs as well. Officers train members of the community in the Citizen’s Police Academy. All officers within the department are post-certified, radar certified, CPR certified, and required to complete 40 hours of in-service training annually.
