The Brentwood Police Department is an Internationally Accredited Law Enforcement Agency located in Tennessee. The department is composed of 4 main divisions: field operations, criminal investigations, support services and emergency communications. The field operations division encompasses specialty sections such as patrol, bike patrol, traffic enforcement and the K9 unit. The officers in this division are the first on scene of a crime or incident and are the main contributors to crime prevention in the department. The criminal investigation division is responsible for conducting investigations of all crimes ranging from vandalism to homicide. The support services division is responsible for all property and evidence logging, records, training and national accreditation. The emergency communications division is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All dispatchers are civilian personnel. They monitor emergency and non-emergency calls coming into the department and dispatch for police and fire. The department also offers community services such as drug abuse resistance education to schools and weapons, self defense and active shooter classes.
