The Lebanon Police Department is an accredited law enforcement agency located in Tennessee. The department was founded in May of 1816. There are 4 divisions within the department: criminal investigations, patrol, special operations, and codes department. The criminal investigations division is responsible for conducting investigations of all violent crimes, property crimes, and crimes against families, collecting evidence, and preparing cases to be prosecuted in court. The narcotics and vice unit is part of the criminal investigations division. The patrol division is responsible for crime prevention, enforcing all laws and ordinances, police and EMS communication dispatch, and conflict resolution. The patrol division is the largest within the department. The special operations division is responsible for overseeing the SWAT team, Emergency Services, K9 and Animal Control units. The codes department is responsible for keeping the neighborhoods clean and presentable by enforcing the property laws. The department also provides community services such as neighborhood watch programs, community oriented policing and crime prevention classes.
