Clifton is located in southern Tennessee. The city is part of Wayne County. The county seat of Wayne County is Waynesboro. Clifton covers a total of 6.12 square miles and has a population of 2,666. The population density is approximately 420.1 people per square mile. The city was incorporated in 1856. There are currently 177 registered sex offenders residing in the city.
