The Sumner County Jail is a maximum security facility which houses adult inmates who have been charged with misdemeanor and felony crimes. All inmates are awaiting trial or serving their sentence. The jail operates on the principle that inmates and staff share the responsibility for creating a safe and orderly setting.

How to Send Mail to an Inmate

Inmates are allowed to receive mail sent to a 3rd party provider. Mail is scanned and distributed electronically. Mail can be sent to:

Commissary deposits can be made in person, online, over the phone or by mail. To make a deposit in person, visit the kiosk located in the Jail Lobby. To make a deposit over the phone, call 855-836-3364. The Sumner County Jail uses a 3rd party provider called JailFunds. To make a deposit online, visit the JailFunds website. The Sumner County Jail only accepts money orders through the mail. Money orders must be properly addressed to the inmate and can be sent to:

Visitation Hours

Inmates housed at the Sumner County Jail are allowed 3 twenty-minute visits per week. All visits are via video recording provided by a 3rd party company called Securus Technologies. Anyone who wants to schedule a visit with an inmate must first make an account through the Securus website. Visits can then be scheduled online.

The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office does not currently offer a public warrant search. For information on criminal and civil warrants, contact the warrants division.
