The Houston County Jail is a minimum to maximum security facility and houses adult inmates who have been charged with misdemeanor and felony crimes. The jail houses both state and local inmates. All inmates in custody are currently awaiting trial or serving out their sentence. The jail employs 12 corrections officers to maintain security, control and custody of the inmates.

How to Send Mail to an Inmate
Inmates are allowed to receive mail sent through the U.S. Postal Service. All mail will be searched for contraband.

Commissary deposits can be made in person, online, over the phone or by using a MoneyGram service. Commissary deposits are processed through a 3rd party company called Court Money. To make a deposit over the phone, call 800-352-9870. To make a deposit online, visit the Court Money website. To make a deposit using a MoneyGram, visit a location that offers the service, such as Walmart or CVS. The following information is needed when sending a MoneyGram: company name-SSC Inmate Funding, receive code-7950, facility ID-M93 and the inmate’s booking number. Onsite deposits can also be made using the kiosk in the jail lobby.
Visitation Hours
Inmates are allowed 1 60 minute visit per week. All visitors must fill out an application and be approved before visiting.
Saturday and Sunday: 8 am to 5 pm
The Houston County Jail releases a monthly inmate roster. The inmate roster will be organized by the inmate’s booking date and time. The inmate’s name, charges, mugshot and bail information will be included.
The Houston County Jail allows the public to search for people with active warrants. Warrants can be found using the person’s first and last name.
