The Maury County Jail is a medium to maximum security facility and houses adult inmates who have been charged with misdemeanor and felony crimes. Inmates are booked, classified and housed according to the crimes they are charged with. All male inmates charged with felonies are housed in the maximum security pod. The facility has an inmate capacity of 386 and employs 50 correctional officers.

How to Send Mail to an Inmate
Inmates are allowed to receive mail sent through the U.S. Postal Service. All mail including letters, postcards and pictures will be scanned and sent to the inmate’s electronic mail account. Inmates can still receive books through the mail as long as it is a softcover and sent directly from the book store.

Commissary deposits can be made online, over the phone, by mail or in person. Online deposits are through a 3rd party company called VendEngine. To make a deposit online, visit the VendEngine website. Deposits over the phone can be made by calling 855-836-3364. There is a kiosk in the lobby of the jail to make deposits in person. Money orders are the only form of payment accepted via mail. Money orders can be sent to:

Visitation Hours
Inmates are allowed to receive 1 60 minute visit per week. Inmates are required to fill out an approved visitor form when they are booked into the jail. Applicants will be screened for criminal history. Convicted felons will not be allowed to visit anyone charged with felony crimes. Anyone who has been incarcerated at the Maury County Jail in the last 90 days will not be allowed to visit.
North Side: Wednesday, Friday and Sunday 8 am to 4 pm
Main/Max Security/Females: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 8 am to 4 pm
