The Monroe County Jail is a maximum security facility and houses adult inmates who have been charged with misdemeanor and felony crimes. The inmates housed at the jail have been arrested within the county limits or are being held for another county. Inmates are booked, classified and housed according to the crimes they are charged with. The facility has a capacity of 364 inmates.

How to Send Mail to an Inmate

Inmates are allowed to receive mail through the U.S. Postal Service. Mail will be searched for contraband before being distributed.

Commissary deposits can be made online or in person. The Monroe County Jail uses a 3rd party provider called VendEngine to process commissary deposits. To make an online deposit, visit the VendEngine website. To make a deposit in person, visit the kiosk located in the Monroe County Jail lobby.

Visitation Hours

Inmates are allowed two 30 minute visits per week. All visits are via video recording. The person visiting the inmate can come to the jail or use their computer or smartphone for the visit. Visits are through a 3rd party provider called City TeleCoin.

Monday-Friday: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

The Monroe County Jail roster is updated every 24 hours. The roster lists the inmate’s name, mugshot, charges, arresting agency and bond amount. There is an option to search for an inmate by their first and last name.
