The Dyer County Jail is located in Dyersburg, Tennessee and houses adult inmates who have been charged with misdemeanor and felony crimes. All inmates in custody are currently awaiting trial or serving out their sentence. The facility has a capacity of 184 inmates. The jail offers different classes and programs to the inmates to help prevent inmates reoffending. These programs include drug and alcohol addiction, anger management, family values, parenting, G.E.D. and jail ministry.

The Dyer County Jail no longer accepts mail at their facility. All mail is sent to the inmates electronically through the JailATM phone app. If there is no access to the internet, people can send inmate’s mail to the following address:

Visitation Hours

Visitation is available based on the cell block and security status of the inmate. All visits are video visits. For more information on visitation, contact the jail.

The Dyer County Jail also lists their most wanted fugitives. The fugitive’s name, mugshot and charges will be posted.

Dyer County Sheriff Information

The Dyer County Sheriff’s Office is a law enforcement agency located in Dyersburg, Tennessee. The office is composed of 6 divisions including, communications, administrations, corrections, patrol, criminal investigations and chaplain services. The communications division is a 911 public safety answering point and is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The administration division handles all warrants and records. The jail division overlooks the Dyer County Jail. The criminal investigations division is responsible for all felony crimes such as homicides, home invasions and kidnappings. The patrol division are the first deputies on the scene of a crime or conducting a traffic stop. The Sheriff’s Office protects over 500 square miles.
