The Dickson County Jail is located in Charlotte, Tennessee and houses adult inmates who have been charged with misdemeanor and felony crimes. All inmates in custody are currently awaiting trial or serving out their sentence. The facility houses 300 inmates, on average, at any given time. There is medical staff available 24 hours a day and deputies for security checks throughout the day. Inmates are classified into different housing units based on their needs and their charges. The jail provides classes such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Celebrate Recovery and G.E.D. programs to the inmates.

How to Send Mail to Inmates

Inmates can receive letters written in pen or pencil on white paper only and 5 pictures per envelope. All mail will be searched for contraband.

Inmates can receive a “72 hour package” once per year. Approved items for the package are as follows: 5 pairs of white socks, 5 pairs of white underwear, 5 white t-shirts, 5 sports bras (women only), 1 set of thermal underwear, 1 white fitted sheet and white flat sheet and 1 white pillow case.

Commissary can be deposited into an inmate’s account through a 3rd party company called VendEngine. Deposits can be made online or onsite at the kiosk in the jail lobby. Money orders can also be sent in to:

Visitation Hours

Visitation is available onsite or from home. All visits are video visits. Video visits are available through a 3rd party company called GTLVisitme. Visitation hours are based on the inmate’s cell block and security status. For information on available visitation hours, contact the jail.
