How to Send Mail to Inmates

Inmates are allowed to receive mail and packages through the U.S. Postal Service. Mail will be searched for contraband. Mail can be sent to:

Inmates may have the following items delivered to the jail within the first 48 hours of their incarceration:

5 pairs of underwear
5 pairs of white ankle socks
5 pairs of thermal underwear
1 pack of white loose leaf paper
Blue or black “Bic” pens
1 box of unopened envelopes

Deposits can be made to an inmate’s commissary account using their assigned number. Deposits can be made online, over the phone or by using the kiosk in the jail lobby. To deposit money over the phone, call 1-888-277-2535. Online deposits can be made by visiting the GovPayNow website.

Visitation Hours

Visitation is available in person or online. Online visitation is accessed through a 3rd party company called City TeleCoin. In person visits are available every day for 15 minutes at a time.

The Giles County Jail updates their inmate roster every 24 hours. Inmates are listed in the order they were booked. The inmate’s name, age, charges, arresting agency and bond information is listed on the roster.

Inmate and police records are available through the Giles County Sheriff’s Department. Record requests must be submitted in person.

All record requests must be submitted in writing. The request coordinator has 7 business days to respond to the request.
