The Davidson County Correctional Center is located in Nashville, Tennessee. There are 4 separate facilities within the Davidson County Correctional Center. The facilities include the correctional development center for men, correctional development center for women, the downtown detention center and the maximum correctional center.

The downtown detention center is the first location an inmate is taken to when they have been arrested. Once booking and processing is complete, the inmate either stays housed at this facility or is transferred to one of the other facilities, based on their security and medical needs. The facility has a capacity of 762.

The correctional development center for men is for low level offenders. The jail focuses on a variety of efforts to improve the chance of the inmate not offending again. Domestic violence and drug and alcohol programs are provided to the inmates. The facility has a capacity of 768.

The correctional development center for women houses female inmates who have been charged with misdemeanor and felony crimes. All inmates in custody are currently awaiting trial or serving out their sentence. The facility has a capacity of 252.

The maximum correctional center houses inmates, both male and female, who have been sentenced and are waiting for transfers to state prisons. The facility has a capacity of 508.

How to Send Mail to an Inmate

For safety and security purposes, physical mail will be scanned and distributed electronically on the inmate’s tablets and commissary kiosks.

All mail must be stamped and mailed through the U.S. Postal Service. Inmates can receive legal mail, letters and greeting cards. All pictures must be 35 millimeters in size. Inmates can also receive magazines and soft back books, but they must be sent directly from a bookstore or internet company.

Commissary deposits can be made onsite at the kiosk located in the Downtown Detention Center or the Correctional Development Center-Male. Funds may also be deposited online using the JailFunds App or over the phone by calling 1-855-836-3364. Money orders can be mailed to:

Visitation Hours

There is currently no in person visitation allowed. Inmates are allowed video visits. All video visits are through the Securus Technologies website or app. The inmate must schedule the visit through the Securus Technologies app and if approved, the visitor will receive an email confirmation. Inmates schedule the visitation around the time slots allowed for their cellblock.

The Davidson County Correctional Center updates their jail roster every hour. The jail roster allows the public to search for an inmate and view their charges. The inmate’s bond information will be available as well.
